Finding the Perfect Fit

Choosing the right size is the most important step in transforming your space. Use this guide to visualize how my prints will look in your home and find the perfect dimensions for your walls.

Visualizing the Scale

  • A4 (21 x 29.7 cm / 8.3 x 11.7″): Perfect for smaller spaces, home office desks, or as part of a grouped gallery wall.

  • A3 (29.7 x 42 cm / 11.7 x 16.5″): A versatile medium size. Ideal for hallways, bathrooms, or paired as a set of two above a small console.

  • 50 x 70 cm (19.7 x 27.6″): Our most popular choice. This size is designed to be a focal point above a bed or a standard-sized sofa.

  • 70 x 100 cm (27.6 x 39.4″): The “Statement” piece. This oversized format is perfect for high ceilings and large living room walls.

Framing Tips

  • Ready-to-Frame: Because I use standard dimensions, you don’t need expensive custom framing. You can find high-quality frames for these sizes at most major home decor retailers.

  • The Look: I recommend a thin wood or black metal frame for a minimalist look, or a frame with a “passepartout” (white mat) if you want to give the art more breathing room.

  • Custom Sizes: Have a unique or vintage frame that doesn’t fit these sizes? No problem. I can print any design in a bespoke size just for you. Contact me here for a custom quote.

Frequently Asked Questions

s a general rule, your artwork should take up 60% to 75% of the available wall space that isn’t covered by furniture or molding.

  • For large empty walls: Think big. A single oversized statement piece or a large gallery wall is better than one small print, which can look “lost.”

  • For narrow walls: Vertical (portrait) prints work best to draw the eye upward and create the illusion of height.

The 2/3 rule (often called the 60-75% rule) is the secret to hanging art over furniture like a sofa, bed, or sideboard. The artwork (or the total width of a gallery set) should be approximately two-thirds to three-quarters the width of the furniture below it.

If you are looking to buy art prints online for a 90-inch sofa, your art arrangement should be between 60 and 70 inches wide to look visually grounded.

In interior design, the 70/30 rule usually refers to balance. This can mean:

  1. Space: 70% of the wall is kept “clean” or neutral, while 30% is occupied by a bold focal point (your art).

  2. Composition: Using 70% of a primary style (like minimalist wall art) and 30% of a contrasting accent style to create visual interest without clutter.

The 57-inch rule is a standard used by galleries and museums. It means the center of your artwork should be exactly 57 inches from the floor. This represents the average human eye level. If you are hanging art above a sofa, ensure there is a 6–8 inch gap between the top of the furniture and the bottom of the frame.

  • Single Large Print: Creates a clean, minimalist focal point. Ideal for modern and Japandi-style homes.

  • Gallery Set: Best for adding personality and filling large expanses. We recommend spacing prints 2 to 3 inches apart to maintain a cohesive look.
